Kat Von D launch latest tattoos: Tattoo culture is much more than skin-deep. At least, that's the impression given by tattoo artist Kat Von D, star of the hit TLC show L.A. Ink and owner of the Hollywood shop High Voltage Tattoo. A tattoo artist since the age of 14, Von D estimates she does 3-5 tattoos every day on a wide range of clients that includes everyone from celebrities like Dave Navarro and members of the band Green Day to homeless teenagers, psychics and pastors.

Each of those clients comes with a story, and, naturally, Von D hears them all — from the joy of self-discovery to the intense grief that often accompanies the memorial portraits which have become her unofficial trademark.

From May 2008 into the summer of 2009, she decided to record those stories in a work journal, reflecting on the meaning of each client's requested tattoo and how the experience of creating it affected her. Those diary entries have now been published as her new illustrated book, The Tattoo Chronicles.

Kat Von D's house torches with her pet cat trapped inside: Reality star Kat Von D is in mourning after her house burnt down with her cat trapped inside. 'R.I.P. My little Valentine,' the tattoo artist tweeted, along with a picture of the hairless pet, thought to have died in the blaze. 'My house burned down last night with my cat inside,' Von D added.

Von D was not in the house at the time. The 28-year-old is currently on tour promoting her book The Tattoo Chronicles, an illustrated diary that documents her personal and professional life. Her fans responded with an outpouring of sympathy, to which she replied: 'In order to gain everything, you must lose everything.'

After visiting the charred remains of her belongings, Von D continued with her tour, arriving in Canada. She will meet fans in Vancouver and Toronto, before heading to Europe. Von D, star of LA Ink, told fans: 'I am so looking forward to meeting all your smiling faces at these book signings!

'Remember, POSITIVE ENERGY FEEDS POSITIVE ENERGY.'

The tattoo artist was the target of criticism after she begun stepping out with Sandra Bullock's infamous ex-husband Jesse James soon after the couple broke up. The two, friends for six years, enjoyed an on-off again relationship, with rumours they were engaged. They are no longer dating.`

Kat Von D glow wedding rumours: Jesse James and Kat Von D have sparked engagement rumours after she was seen wearing a giant diamond ring, although she refused to discuss it on a television show. Jesse split from his wife Sandra Bullock earlier this year, after a string of women alleged he had affairs with them while married. The pair are now divorced, and Jesse has been dating celebrity tattooist Kat for several months.

There have been continuous rumours about their romance, including speculation they split recently. Kat has blasted the claims, insisting there is no truth to them at all. The star appeared on American TV programme The Joy Behar Show earlier this week wearing a large diamond on her ring finger, but is said to have told interviewers not to refer to it. "Before the show she told Joy very emphatically she did not want to talk about it," a source told the New York Post. "Joy asked some Jesse questions, just not about the ring.

Breaking News: Kat Von D getting Engagement: Kat Von D is doing her best to keep the public guessing at her current relationship status. The empress of ink has been romantically linked to Sandra Bullock's notorious ex-husband Jesse James in the past few months, but the pair haven't been photographed together for weeks. TMZ reports that she's tried to have her relationship with James completely edited out of the current season of her reality show, TLC's LA Ink. To complicate matters further, Kat was has been spotted hanging out with her ex, Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx, in Los Angeles. Kat tried to clear up the rumors this week, telling USA Today, "Jesse and I didn't break up." She went on to call him "one of the most kind-hearted, intelligent human beings." She also sported a gigantic sparkly ring on her right ring finger, but refused to say whether it was an engagement ring. Is Kat pulling a major publicity stunt, or is she planning to become the next Mrs. Jesse James? That didn't work out so well for Sandra Bullock...
